Fundamental Mechanics and Emerging Applications of the Leidenfrost effect

I conducted a literature review on the Leidenfrost effect under the guidance of Rawand Rasheed, PhD Rice University. The paper covered levitation mechanics, vapor cushion behavior, and methods of microfluidic transport. I explored suppression techniques, including substrate alteration, nanoparticle deposition, and inducing electric fields. Keen to explicate the versatility of the Leidenfrost effect, and my interest in space, both normal and microgravity applications were explored in fields like aerospace, marine engineering, thermal energy systems, material science, and cryogenics.

Following rigorous peer review, the paper earned outstanding ratings for technical quality and overall contribution. It has been accepted for publication in the June edition of the International Journal of High School Research (IJHSR).
